2015/02/05

According to Plastics Europe trade block, the European plastic output raised 1.5% in 2014.
At the round-table conference held recently at Brussels, this organization released the latest economic data about plastic industry showing the overall development trend of European plastic industry during 2014 and 2015.
Cars, household electrical appliance, construction and other professions accelerated development in the second half of 2014, and customers’ needs for raw material increased, which were good for European manufacturer.
The industry showed a gradual positive increasing trend and it was expected that it would increase by 1% by 2015.
Executive director of Plastics Europe, Karl-H Foerster said “plastic industry is an important process of European reindustrialization, because this industry brings chain reaction for other main economic sphere.”
In Europe, packaging and construction are the two largest plastic markets, and the next are auto-industry and electronic and electric industry. China remains the global biggest producer of plastic and the energy prices in America are able to be slashed, both of which enhances the competition. These are two of the challenges that European plastic industry is facing in the world.
“the competitiveness of energy and raw material, the support of innovation and training, the investment in innovation and the implement and complement of laws and regulations will create favourable development condition for European plastic industry and continue to make a contribution to European economy and society,” Karl said.
