    Precipitated barium sulfate, insoluble in water, ethanol and organic solvent, is a kind of environmental functional material with strong chemical inertness, good stability, acid and alkali resistance, moderate hardness, high whiteness, high gloss, the ability of absorbing harmful X ray and other advantages. Different reaction technology and advanced grinding technology control its particle size distribution in a narrow range. Besides, barium sulfate has good affinity after different surface treatment.

     Product features:

    High cost performance: Precipitated barium sulfate has a high reflection coefficient in a wide spectrum, so it is white powder with neutral color. In this way it can keep the original pigment brightness and hue. Most of pigments are easy to form aggregates which will weaken the tinting strength of pigment. Whether it is water-based colorant, solvent-based colorant or universal colorant, using precipitated barium sulfate will obviously reduce flocculation in various pigment preparation and increase steric hindrance or charge repulsion to stabilize pigments and improve cost effectiveness. Besides, it can also effectively reduce the dosages of various pigments and act as a substitute for pigments including titanium dioxide, colour pigments and carbon black, etc.

    Maximizing gloss: Precipitated barium sulfate has good dispersibility. So coatings, added barium sulfate, have high luster and rheological property even at higher concentrations.

    Reducing solvent content: With low oil absorption, precipitated barium sulfate can effectively increase the solid content of mill base and reduce solvent consumption. It has little impact on viscosity, so it can reduce VOC.

    Shortening grinding time: Precipitated barium sulfate can effectively reduce flocculation in various pigment preparations. Using it can not only save raw materials, but also effectively shorten the grinding time.

    Good weather resistance: It has strong reflectivity within the scope of ultraviolet wavelength. It has synergy with TiO₂. Besides, it has good light resistance and weather resistance.

    Improving mechanical properties: Coatings which are added precipitated barium sulfate have better interlayer adhesion and film hardness.
