How to Improve the Specific Gravity of Barite

2016/01/25  bmschem

The main component of barite is barium sulfate. Barite is an important raw mineral material, plays an important role in metallurgy, petroleum, chemical and other industries and can act as counterweight material. But all of these require the content of barium sulfate. How to improve the content of barium sulfate and the specific gravity of barite?

There are many barren rocks in barite which are important factors affecting the content of barium sulfate and the specific gravity of barite. Removing these barren rocks can improve proportion and the content of barium sulfate. So mineral processing is a major measure to improve the specific gravity and remove barren rocks.

The specific gravity of barite is large, generally between 4.2 and 4.6, while the specific gravity of barren rock is generally smaller. So we can use the proportion difference to do efficient gravity separation. The primary separator is jigger with large selected size, wide size fraction and other processing advantages. Therefore it can be used to process coarse, medium and fine particles disseminated barite.

After jigging separation, most of barren rocks have been removed and thus the specific gravity of barite and the content of barium sulfate have been improved.
